Our Story Blooms
From a single dream to flourishing arrangements that bring joy to homes and celebrations across Azerbaijan
The Journey Behind Every Petal
What started as weekend visits to local flower markets has grown into something I never quite expected. Here's how it all unfolded, with all the messy bits included.
The Accidental Beginning
I honestly didn't set out to start a flower business. My apartment was getting cluttered with arrangements I'd made for friends' birthdays and small gatherings. When my neighbor Farid asked if I could do something for his daughter's engagement party, I said yes without thinking it through. That event led to three more bookings before the month ended. By December, I was spending more on flowers than groceries and loving every minute of it.
Finding Our Voice Through Trial
The pandemic taught us things no business course ever could. When fresh flower imports became unpredictable, we dove headfirst into dried arrangements. I spent months learning preservation techniques, ruining countless blooms in the process. But by autumn 2022, we'd developed our signature style that blends traditional Azerbaijani color preferences with contemporary European techniques. The breakthrough came when a corporate client ordered 200 dried arrangements for their new office space.
Growing Beyond Expectations
This year has surprised us in ways we're still processing. We've expanded to work with twelve regular corporate clients and three wedding venues. What makes me proudest isn't the growth in numbers, but watching our team develop their own creative approaches. Each person brings something different to the arrangements, and clients notice. We're planning our first flower arrangement workshops for early 2026 because so many people ask how we create certain effects.
The Person Behind the Petals
I'm Delphine, and I came to flower arranging through a completely different path than most people expect. My background was actually in textile design, but after years of working with fabrics, I found myself drawn to the temporary nature of fresh flowers.
The transition wasn't smooth. I spent two years trying to balance both careers before finally committing fully to Mryenllyd Xychorven in 2021. Some weeks I wondered if I'd made the right choice, especially when dealing with suppliers or managing seasonal variations. But then someone would tell me how our arrangement made their grandmother smile during her hospital stay, and everything clicked back into place.
Where We're Growing Next
Looking ahead to 2026, we're planning some changes that feel both exciting and slightly terrifying. The workshop series I mentioned will focus on dried flower techniques because that's where we see the most curiosity from clients. We're also exploring partnerships with two local venues to offer on-site arrangement services for corporate events.
What won't change is our focus on creating arrangements that actually fit into people's lives rather than just looking impressive on social media. We work with seasonal availability, honest pricing, and the understanding that every space has different needs. It's not always the most profitable approach, but it's the one that lets us sleep well at night.
Seasonal Honesty
We work with what's actually available rather than forcing expensive imports. This keeps costs reasonable and arrangements authentic to the time of year.
Practical Beauty
Every arrangement we create needs to work in real spaces with real maintenance requirements. Beautiful but manageable is our goal.
Growing Knowledge
We share what we learn through workshops and consultations because understanding flowers makes the experience better for everyone involved.
